VRMA vs VMD
Compare VRMA and VMD, understand how avatar-oriented motion differs from MMD motion, and decide which target format belongs in the next workflow step.
Why the formats are not interchangeable by default
VRMA is tied to VRM avatar workflows, while VMD belongs to MMD motion pipelines. Even when the motion intent feels similar, the surrounding assumptions and validation environments are different.
That is why these two formats should be compared as workflow targets, not treated as casually interchangeable outputs.
When VRMA is the better target
Choose VRMA when the result is supposed to live in a VRM avatar environment, browser avatar playback path, or another avatar-specific runtime. In that case the validation tool should also stay avatar-oriented.
The route page and viewer links should reflect that consistently.
When VMD is the better target
Choose VMD when the motion is meant to stay in or move into MMD workflows. That includes browser-side PMX or PMD validation, MMD review, or another step where VMD is the native expectation.
The important point is to choose the target that matches the next ecosystem, not the source you happen to have today.
